Introduction to the Life-Plan Process:
Map the five important areas in your life.
Decide what you want in each area by:
- updating your knowledge and beliefs
- creating a vision / dream ?
- deciding why the dream is important (purpose)
- formulating goals
- scheduling an action plan.
Manifest the Plan by:
- tracking the progress of your actions
- reporting your progress to a mentor
(and this is why you need a Life Diary)
For the impatient souls that want to skip right to the end result:
There are online forms to help you go through this process:
Downloads and Online Forms.
... and the end result of all of this is a Weekly Life-Planner:

For the thorough-foundation-souls, let's continue on the journey.
Mapping:

LifeBook by John & Missy Butcher maps 12 life areas, and in The Code of The Extraordinary Mind Vishen Lakhiani also maps 12 life areas. Some of the areas overlap - creating roughly 18 items (which are too many to focus on).
Since we have 5 fingers, it is easy to map our lifes into 5 big areas and then fit similar stuff into each area.
Compare it to grocery shopping: Each life area is a shopping bag. Each bag holds its own kind of items.
Areas & Items
1) Self Care:
sleep, hydrate, diet, exercise, emotions, spiritual |
2) Share:
love, life, parenting, family, friends |
3) Grow:
creativity, intellectual stimulation, skills development, EQ |
4) Steward:
career, owner, entrepreneur, money |
5) Quality of Life:
contributions, experiences, environments |
Balance:
Balance means to allocate to each area its proportional amount.
Why ?
The Law of Diminishing Marginal Returns shows a point where increased performance in selective areas lead to overall deterioration and dissatisfaction.
To maximize the big result, balance the individual parts.
